Now you can find the words you've been looking for without leaving the comfort of your home! Join a far-flung, world-wide community of aspiring and perspiring creatives embarking on an exciting journey of literary discovery.
Hundreds of writers have been helped by this proven program. Writing the Wave will teach you to break through inner obstacles and master skills. The key to success is working with both your creative and analytical mind in a fun and engaging way. The imagination-boosting techniques are so effective, you'll find yourself writing non-stop from the very first exercise. Join a celebrated writing teacher to learn: "imaginative layering," "extrospection," and other exciting, reliable methods for discovering the organic shape of any story, poem, essay or play.
Through step-by-step exercises, this course transforms fundamental principles into concrete techniques you can use for a lifetime. Learn to fuse actual and invented experience; glean creative ideas from your surroundings; tap into your unconscious in a disciplined way; generate images, scenes, or characters effortlessly; organize raw material efficiently; make an outline or "map" of any poem, fiction, or nonfiction project; and jumpstart a stalled work-in-progress. Maximize productivity, minimize fears, and write your wave with joy and confidence.
There are NO REQUIRED MEETING TIMES -- assignments are submitted weekly at your convenience. And the 20-session course is broken down into four short segments which can be taken independently of each other (after you take PART ONE).
Writing the Wave Online is easy!
1. Your copy of Elizabeth's book, Writing the Wave: Inspired Rides for Aspiring Writers is FREE with your workshop registration.
2. Each week for five weeks, you will receive an email assignment. Assignments consist of exercises from the book, plus a series of questions designed by Elizabeth to help on-line students evaluate their on-going creative process.
3. You have 7 full days to complete your assignment. You then email it to Elizabeth and your classmates. You will also send to Elizabeth a one-paragraph response to each classmates assignment. Elizabeth then posts your work along with her comments, your classmates' comments, and Elizabeth's comments on the comments so that everyone can read the set easily. Response to each student's work from every other student in the class is an integral part of the online workshop experience. Participants will be given simple instructions for how to do this.
That's it!
The cost of this online workshop is $245
Next class begins Tuesday, January 23, 2008
